CONTAINMENT

ABOUT THE COLLECTION
The concept of containment is often used in reference to physical elements that prevent a mass from escaping its boundaries or a substance from spilling out of its container. In mass events, where the objective is to organize the movement of people and to prevent misconduct, fences or containment walls are typically installed.
Containment relates to the idea of a wall, which according to A Dictionary of Symbols by Juan Eduardo Cirlot, expresses the idea of powerlessness, detention, and resistance – extreme situations. However, a wall in the form of a fence, and considered from within it, has a very different associated characteristic, which can be seen — depending on its function and conception — as one of protection.
Containment is an accumulation of feelings, a repression of what is inside, that which, when we decide to share it, flows out. However, there are times in our lives in which it is better to contain emotions.
