Anna Taratiel (Anna Ovni)
BIOGRAPHY
Anna Taratiel (Terrassa, 1982) began her artist journey in Barcelona's street art scene, under the pseudonym Ovni. She specialized in Mural Art at the Escola de la Llotja in Barcelona. For a number of years, she worked in Amsterdam where she combined artistic creation, making murals and installations in public spaces, with commissions for large brands. Her works are characterized by a deeply abstract and geometric language, where line, color and recently volume, constructively intervene in their environment. Some of her references have been the abstractions of František Kupka, the geometries of Víctor Vasarely, and the geometric, linear forms of Russian constructivism. However, her primary inspiration comes from the little things of our everyday reality, such as Arab mosaics, deconstructive architecture and even wooden puzzles for children. In 2015 she returned to Terrassa where she currently lives and works.
